There is but one sure, unchanging explanation -- God. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters" (Genesis 1:2). The earth being without form and void means that it took form and then there was water. Water could not be present while this place was without form and void. That means God formed the planet and the rest is history. "Worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters" (Revelation 14:7).
